Who we are

Need Coaching is led by Kathy Martin and Beck Longbottom, experienced practictioners in complex project delivery and change.

Together, we bring decades of complementary experience across delivery, change and complex systems. Our backgrounds span government, community, cultural and organisational settings, and we have both spent decades working alongside leaders in high-pressure environments.

Clients value our ability to understand context quickly, ask the right questions and offer support that is practical, grounded and credible.

Kathy supports leaders navigating complexity, change and competing priorities, helping them see the system they are working in and identify where they can act. Her coaching creates clarity, confidence and momentum when there’s little space to step back.

Beck supports leaders responsible for delivery in complex environments, particularly where everything is live at once and decisions carry real consequences. Her work creates space to think, strengthen judgement and keep work moving under pressure.

What we do

We support leaders and organisations when responsibility is high and everything feels like it’s live at once.

We work in the overlapping space of delivery pressure, change and accountability. This is often when leaders are carrying multiple priorities, managing funded work, inheriting complexity or stepping into roles where decisions have real consequences.

Our work creates space to think clearly, untangle complexity and keep real work moving forward through applied coaching grounded in real delivery experience and systems thinking.

Why we do it

Many organisations invest heavily in projects, programs and change initiatives, but far less in supporting the people responsible for delivering them.

We know what it’s like to walk in your shoes. Leaders are expected to:

  • stabilise delivery under pressure

  • make sound decisions with incomplete information

  • lead change alongside day-to-day work

  • carry accountability without slowing things down

Traditional training and generic leadership programs often don’t help in these moments. But where there’s a problem there’s a solution, and we’re passionate about helping leaders find their way.

Our shared knowledge and approach is designed for exactly this gap.

Our method

We provide applied coaching supporting leaders working on complex live delivery, change and accountability challenges.
